Clariant recently celebrated the inauguration of its new production plant for Licocene, a polyolefin-based high-performance polymer in Frankfurt-Höchst, Germany. After a two-year construction period, the plant, which has an annual capacity of 20,000 tons, started operation on schedule.
“Building this plant in Frankfurt-Höchst was a conscious decision for a site in the heart of Germany,” said Uwe Nickel, head of Clariant’s Pigments and Additives Division. “The necessary infrastructure is already in place, and the close proximity to all important research and development facilities of the Pigments and Additives Division allows us to make best use of synergy. This synergy is what made it possible to implement a new production technology in minimum time.”
